Juniors / Gumnuts – Term 2 Program (Parent Help Wanted)
Gumnuts, Juniors, Parent Help, Program, UncategorizedJuniors / Gumnuts Parents & Guardians,
Here is the link to Term 2 2016 program. Click Here Full of challenges, events & badges!
Please have a look at the program & note where I have asked for Parent Help – it is essential that if you request to assist me at guides & you cannot attend for any reason, to let me know early enough OR arrange with another parent to help instead.
Our program can only be successful if parents assist. Without parent help, our program cannot be dynamic, interesting & full of challenges for the girls.
If you can help next week with the ANZAC Challenge, please contact me immediately as I have a little job to prepare before guides next week 🙂
Badges & Thank you
Awards, Awards (Junior BP, Badges, BP & Queens), Gumnuts, Juniors, Parent Help, Program, SeniorsThank you from all the Carrum Guide Leaders for your support & patience.
Tuesday night was great to see 6 new junior guides make their promise! Without the parent support & help, our night wouldn’t of been as successful (apart from the timing – my apologies, blame that heat!)
Without the help & support from our parents, we cannot deliver a dynamic program full of fun, badges, games, patrol system & girl driven. It is an important & fundamental part of our unit for both Juniors/Gumnuts & Seniors.
We encourage your daughter to read the “Look Wide Book” to see what badges they want to work on. If they want to work towards a badge, we encourage you to let us know before they work on the badge to make sure there is a “guiding flair” to the badge!
Did you know about our “Action Guide” Badge, it is in the back of the “Look Wide Book”. Each year, they work towards this badge – have a look & get us to mark your daughter off – you will be surprised that is she attends events & guide nights regularly, half of the badge might already been achieved by mid year!
Is your daughter 8 years old? If yes, maybe they might be interested on starting working towards their Junior BP Award?
Or if your daughter is 11 years old? If yes, maybe they might be interested on starting working towards their BP Award?
We will be having an information session next term on both the Junior BP & BP awards.

Junior / Gumnut Program Term 1 2016
Gumnuts, Juniors, Parent Help, Program, Uncategorizedhttps://carrumgirlguides.com/program/
Hi All,
Junior / Gumnut Term 1 2016 Program is now uploaded. There are a few gaps in the program that will be filled after tomorrow night when the girls will program the last remaining nights. Our program is “girl driven” plus relevant to guiding in todays society. I love hearing what the girls want to do & we love delivering their ideas wrapped up into the traditions & ideas of guiding.
When developing our program, we incorporate the Australian Guiding Program (AGP) into the exciting games & activites we program. AGP is based on Physical, People, Practical & Self – making sure we cover Promise & Law, Outdoors, Service, World Guiding, Guiding Traditions, Leadership Development & Patrol System. Want more information, come speak to me at the end of junior guides.
Without parents, our program cannot be delivered to the high expectations that our guides, leaders & parents expect. I have a few spots on the program that need 1 or 2 parent volunteers. This is on top of the now fabulous unit helpers that have committed to 2016! If you have area of expertise that would benefit our young guides please let us know! We love to have guest speakers or interesting topics to discuss at guides or better still work it into a badge for the guides to achieve.
If you want to help at guides, a WWC (Working With Children Check) will need to be organised through Guides Vic (see Tamara or Sam for appropriate forms).
Yours In Guiding, Bickie (Tamara)

Free Being Me Program (Please take time to read this post & parent letter attached)
Juniors, Program, Seniors(Please take time to read this post & the parent letter that is attached)
Empowering girls through improving body confidence. WAGGGS (World Association of Girl Guides & Girl Scouts), Dove and Girl Guides Australia have worked hard to develop a program that is girl-led, fun and relevant to the needs of girls and young women.
The “Free Being Me” has been written especially for the age groups of our units. It is an educational program that engages with exploring ideas about body confidence & beauty that will affect them as they grow up. Free Being Me shows participants that there isn’t just one way to be beautiful & that what is inside them matters the most.
Girl Guides who have taken part in the Free Being Me activities and done a Take Action project that reaches two others can receive a Free Being Me badge. Giving these badges is a great reward for the participants, and helps the World Association count out how many have taken part in the activities worldwide.
Please take a moment to read the attached letter about this program.
