A new movie of The Jungle Book is being released in April this year. It is very special that the story which is so central to Cub Scouts is being told in the year of our Centenary. To celebrate, the Kingston District is aiming to fill a movie theatre with Cub Scouts in uniform. Families and other members of our Scouting family are also, of course, very welcome – including girl guides in uniform.
The event is being held at Dendy Brighton on Friday, April 8 (last Friday of the holidays) for their early evening session (between 6:30pm and 7:00pm, final confirmation of time in week of event) and tickets will be $14 each for everyone. Bookings can be made at https://www.trybooking.com/KTHT until the Saturday before or until we sell out. Please make sure you select your group to make it easier to collect your ticket on the night.
This event is run by the Scouts (if you wish to attend, you are to be accompanied by an adult).

Thank you from all the Carrum Guide Leaders for your support & patience.
Tuesday night was great to see 6 new junior guides make their promise! Without the parent support & help, our night wouldn’t of been as successful (apart from the timing – my apologies, blame that heat!)
Without the help & support from our parents, we cannot deliver a dynamic program full of fun, badges, games, patrol system & girl driven. It is an important & fundamental part of our unit for both Juniors/Gumnuts & Seniors.
We encourage your daughter to read the “Look Wide Book” to see what badges they want to work on. If they want to work towards a badge, we encourage you to let us know before they work on the badge to make sure there is a “guiding flair” to the badge!
Did you know about our “Action Guide” Badge, it is in the back of the “Look Wide Book”. Each year, they work towards this badge – have a look & get us to mark your daughter off – you will be surprised that is she attends events & guide nights regularly, half of the badge might already been achieved by mid year!
Is your daughter 8 years old? If yes, maybe they might be interested on starting working towards their Junior BP Award?
Or if your daughter is 11 years old? If yes, maybe they might be interested on starting working towards their BP Award?
We will be having an information session next term on both the Junior BP & BP awards.
Yours In Guiding Bickie
Seniors – Patrol Leader Elections will be on last week of term.
Any guide wishing to elect for patrol leader needs to make sure they understand what is expected from a patrol leader.
Hi All,
Juniors / Gumnuts – a parent helper is needed each week to assist at guides to not only provide another adult to be present at unit nights, but to ease the pressure from leaders. This allows leaders to provide a fun & productive program that is “girl driven”.
A parent helper might make cordial, clean dishes, or assist with craft activity.
If you think you could spare a night or two a term, please let us know & we will pop your name on a roster.

Butterfly Promise Sheet with Pg 2 – can you print this off, colour & make for Tuesday?
Junior Guides Hand Badge – for all guides making their promise on Tuesday (please prepare this badge – only if you want to earn a badge on same night!)
